Great location and great customer service. Ask for Mr. Pepsi while there, and he will take care of you :) They have 24 hours presence at the desk, and extend help for whatever matter. I highly recommend this place.

The Red River Hostel is the best value for money you will find! It's cheap, clean, friendly, the staff speak really good English and is very accommodating, it's well located, you have the WiFi, the breakfast included etc. etc. You won't find something else like that at this price !

It's feels like home in this hostel ... I missed the manager of the hotel and the other guests ... it was very comfortable to stay it's too near for isteklal st about 5 mints walking ..and near for tram station about 7 mins walking to ... the manager of the hotel ms fafsival is really good man he will always make sure that u r happy with him

Very convenient location and quiet street.

The hotel could be lovely if clean and looked after. However, rooms and common facilities are dirty. The shared bathroom was appalling. The shower was broken. Water was leaking from the shower and toilets. The only place that is cleaned on a regular basis is the front window of the hotel, to attract guest I imagine...

Hotel owner and staff are extremely kind and helpful (and speak very well English). Very good location for shopping and nightlife. Room was very spatious and bright. Nice breakfast. Fast wifi.

Hotel and surrounding streets can be quite noisy until about midnight, but after that moment it becomes much more quiet. Also, this is mainly a hostel, so toilets and showers are shared (as mentioned in other comments, at times you have to be a little patient). For main touristic attractions (aya sofia etc) you have to take a tram (15min, very frequent).

A great place to stay for a long weekend whilst travelling alone. Close enough to the buzzy part of Istanbul, safe, and within (longish - because I the hills) walking distance to Sultanahmet and all of the touristy areas! Enjoyed a lot - thank you "Pepsi"!!!!

This Hostel is greatly located in one of the alleys that reaches istiklal caddesi with a 5 min walking distance and from there you can take the nostaljic tram to taksim. Also one can reach kabatas by 10 min walking that is the port to the adalar. Personnel are polite and can speak very good English and some German. The rooms are not excellent and bathroom is a bit small but worth for the money and safe. The man at reception is helpful with anything he can and that helped me a lot coz he kept my Laptop and Passport in a safe box with no cost... To sum up, this hostel can provide a fantastic memory of the glamorous Istanbul!

Bathroom was small and no hanger for towel and etc. They can make it perfect with some simple changes. Old people may need a taxi coz the alley has a considerable slope.

This hostel was perfect for my friend and me. The room was clean, big, comfortable and equiped with climatisation. The bathroom was shared with other people but cleaned everyday. The geographical situation was perfect, in Beyoglu, so near of night life, and also near of tramway Tophane station. Therefore it was very easy to go to the historical city center where all the famous monuments are. The tenants were very friendly and kind. I'm very happy of my stay in Redriver Hostel.

Location is perfect for exploring Istanbul - hip young crowds up the hill on Istiklal Caddesi, with great local music and shops. If/when you get tired of the crowds, head downhill and see how the Turkish people live. Great access to several public transport points: Tünel-Karaköy, Sishane-Taksim, Taksim-Kabatas; take your pick, it's easy to avoid crowds if you like. But what really makes it special is Fevzi... He's a wealth of information on Istanbul and will do anything he can to help if you need anything, just ask! After a few days I felt like I was with family and added a second week to my stay...

The staff made us feel so at home during our stay, particularly the owner who was really helpful and kind. They helped us as much as they could with any questions we had about the city. The rooms are large and the breakfast is nice (lovely Turkish tea!) The location is excellent, right off Istiklal caddesi and a short walk down to the tramway to get to Sultanahmet. This hostel is excellent value for money.

A clean hostel with very friendly staff. A minute of walking distance from Istiklal. Breakfast was very good. It was a great place for a cheap price.
